2005 Breeder of the Year
Prominent Yarck breeder Peter Provis, the 2005 Victorian Breeder of the Year, is an ardent supporter of the Performance Training methods of Jason McInnes.
A pair of youngsters, Em Maguane and Cobargo Magic, both bred by Provis, were Group winning juveniles at Moonee Valley in the 2006/07 season.
Both were given their early education by Jason with Em Maguane also being prepared by him for the Australian Pacing Gold yearling sale.
Em Maguane, who was bought by a group including several AFL footballers for $26,000, showed his class when he captured the $20,000 Victoria Sapling Stakes at only his third start. The colt was also a finalist in the $300,000 Australian Gold final at Harold Park.
Meanwhile, Cobargo Magic strutted her stuff against the best two-year-old fillies in commission, winning a heat and semi-final of the Vicbred Super Series. Among her scalps were Staccato, winner of the Australasian Breeders Crown and the Tatlow Stakes winner Glowing Jasper.
Em Maguane and Cobargo Magic will be well in line for the major three-year-old classics this term.
